There are a few hard and fast rules about the ocean: it will always be large,it will always be salty, and Aquaman and Black Manta will always be locked in battle.
Director James Wan (The Conjuring) knows this, and that’s why The Wrap was recently able to confirm his forthcoming Aquaman film will pit the King of Atlantis against his arch-nemesis.
No word on who will don the supervillain’s iconic chrome-dome helmet (perhaps Karl Urban), though they’ll have to stare down the imposing figure of Jason Momoa and his trident.
Aquaman will again make an appearance in the DC Extended Universe during next year’s Justice League before he and Black Manta can duke out their ocean’s worth of differences in Aquaman in summer 2018.
