NBC is Sending Leslie Jones to Rio Because of Her Amazing Tweets

Despite taking a hiatus from Twitter in July after being harassed on the site, the Ghostbusters and Saturday Night Live star is back.

She returned to hilariously live-tweet the Olympics.

Her enthusiasm for team USA was so great that NBC Olympics executive producer Jim Bell even jokingly invited her to Rio to Tweet about the Olympics, tweeting at her: “You’re officially invited to Rio. Want to come?”

Now, NBC is flying Jones out to Rio to comment on the games (so she doesn’t need two screens to watch all of the Olympics anymore).

It’s unclear when or how she’ll get there, but she’ll likely continue Tweeting about her Olympic journey on her Twitter profile. See some more of her Olympics tweets below.
