Ocean’s 8 Has Its Seven (But Not Eight) Main Female Cast Members

Warner Bros. may think that a female-led Ocean’s 8 is a good idea (we concur), but apparently the studio cannot count. As of now, Deadline reports that Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna and Awkwafina (a.k.a. Nora Lum) will make up the diverse and frankly stunning cast. That makes seven. Who will the eighth cast member be? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Ocean’s 8, to be directed by Gary Ross, will continue the original trilogy with Bullock as the former convict and sister of George Clooney’s Danny Ocean to pull off a new heist. Ross cowrote the film with Olivia Milch.

Previous Ocean’s director Steven Soderbergh will produce the caper flick. Cameos from Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon are expected, but have not been set in stone.

Filming on Ocean’s 8 will start in New York in October.
