AMC Casts Black Mirror Star Wyatt Russell in New Drama Lodge 49

TV News AMC

AMC has been looking for another Walking Dead/Breaking Bad-sized phenomenon for a minute now, and the channel’s next shot at greatness is called Lodge 49. The show is about an ex-surfer named Dud who joins a fraternal order wanting to reclaim his simple lifestyle following the death of his father, and now it’s found its Dud.

Wyatt Russell, probably best known for his role in 22 Jump Street and Black Mirror season three, has been cast in the lead role.

Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development for AMC, said of the casting, “Dud is a layered, complex and fascinating character who embodies hope and futility, comedy and tragedy, and the fragility of life. Wyatt brings the nuance, warmth and depth to this lovable and iconic character, and we’re thrilled to have him.”

Lodge 49 doesn’t currently have a release date.
