If you can’t wait for La La Land, just think about how long it took to make. A new featurette for the film gives us a look at the months of preparation that went into the film, and gives us a sense of what we’re going to be getting when the film hits theaters in less than a month. It’s all quite impressive.
The featurette highlights the chemistry that stars Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling have, and the incredible amount of time they spent learning the choreography for the film. We also get a chance to learn more about the film’s supporting cast, which includes J.K. Simmons, Finn Wittrock, John Legend and Rosemarie Dewitt.
We also get an idea of the way director Damien Chazelle sought to pay tribute to all of the great movie musicals of the ‘30s and ‘40s. Check out the featurette above to see what extraordinary lengths the actors went to to prepare for their roles (John Legend learned to play the guitar! Ryan Gosling learned piano!). La La Land hits select theaters on Dec. 9 before going wide on Christmas Day.
