Full Frontal With Samantha Bee’s “Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner” to Stream on Twitter Following TBS Premiere

We have some stellar news for Samantha Bee fans.

Earlier today, Turner’s TBS announced that the highly anticipated, sure-to-be-awesomely-raucous Full Frontal with Samantha Bee special, titled “Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner,” will stream on Twitter following the one-hour segment’s TBS premiere. The event itself will be taking place this Saturday, April 29, at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., with the proceedings airing later in the evening first at TBS at 10 p.m. EST and then at Twitter at 11 p.m. EST The Twitter stream will be accessible via both samanthabee.twitter.com and the @FullFrontalSamB Twitter handle.

This is how the show’s press release described the forthcoming special:

“Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner” will finally answer the question, “What if Washington D.C.’s annual nerd prom were hosted by a lady nerd and had way more curse words? Also, what if it actually honored a free press and gave the finger to those who would try to diminish it?” And thanks to the uncensored encore Twitter stream of the special, viewers will be able to see and hear all those curses and fingers. Twitter will also serve as a hub for exclusive content from the event, including an hour-long red carpet special hosted by Full Frontal with Samantha Bee’s team of correspondents beginning at 9 p.m. (ET). And yes, #NotTheWHCD has an emoji … this #$&@ is serious.

In other words, expect more spiky, sterling satire from one of the few able heirs to Jon Stewart. If you’re anything less than sold on the idea of the special or of Samantha Bee in general, a few words from the woman herself regarding her inspiration for running a Twitter stream should change your mind: “The teens who run our social media accounts said we should do this, and honestly, I was about three margaritas in at the time, so I guess it’s happening.”
