A veteran of the sci-fi genre, Noomi Rapace stars alongside herself in the heart-pounding trailer for What Happened to Monday? Also starring Glenn Close and Willem Dafoe, the Tommy Wirkola-directed film is set in a dystopian world where only one child is allowed per family due to massive overpopulation.
Rapace’s seven characters are septuplets, each of them named after the day of the week that they’re allowed to leave the house and assume the singular identity of Karen Settman. Things go awry when Monday, one of the septuplets, goes missing, prompting the other six women to go on a hunt for their missing sister.
Considering the popularity of works like Orphan Black and Split, it looks as though audiences will see more actors taking on multiple roles on one project. Lest we forget, Lindsey Lohan was a pioneer of this cinematic technique with her performance in The Parent Trap (1998).
