These Videos of IT‘s Pennywise Dancing Are the (Dum)best Thing You’ll See Today

Andy Muschietti’s IT is well on its way to becoming the highest-grossing horror movie of all time, and there’s a new Twitter account perfect for helping the film’s many fans celebrate its success. @Pennywise_Dance is exactly what it sounds like: a collection of brief videos of Pennywise the Dancing Clown doing what he does best, set to various songs. That’s the whole thing.

First and foremost, these clips are good for a dumb laugh, but they’re also a nice way for those viewers who are horrified by Bill Skarsgård’s chilling take on Pennywise to fight that fear a little bit. IT’s demonic antagonist is far less frightening when he’s getting down to something as silly as Lou Bega’s “Mambo No. 5” or Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off.” That’s just science.

Some of the videos are better than others in terms of Pennywise’s moves actually being synced up with the beat of the music. It seems that the brilliant, twisted mind behind @Pennywise_Dance did not figure out until making more than 20 of these things that they could slow down the video clip to actually match the song. (We are professionals, and this is what we do. We critique dancing demon clown videos.)

Anyway, we’ve collected a bunch of the best clips below—peruse @Pennywise_Dance in full here, read our IT review here and see where IT ranks among all Stephen King film adaptations here.
