The Good Place Renewed for Third Season at NBC

Oh, fork yeah: The Good Place is going to keep on being good for a third season.

NBC has renewed the acclaimed half-hour comedy for another 13 episodes, per THR. The inventive sitcom, created by Mike Schur (Parks and Recreation), stars Kristen Bell, Ted Danson, William Jackson Harper, Jameela Jamil, Manny Jacinto and D’Arcy Carden.

The show’s audience has grown steadily over its first two seasons. From THR:

So far this season, The Good Place has averaged a 2.0 rating among adults 18-49 and 6.2 million total viewers, with seven days of delayed viewing. When additional platform viewing is taken into account, the show’s ratings grows to a 2.6 in the key demo, a bump up from its 2.57 rating compared with this time last season.

The Good Place was ordered straight to series in late 2015, locking in Bell and Danson to star soon after. The show is produced by Universal Television, Fremulon and 3 Arts Entertainment, with Schur, David Miner, Morgan Sackett and Drew Goddard serving as executive producers.

Here’s Holly Green on why The Good Place is the perfect metaphor for the sitcom genre.
