Timothée Chalamet Set to Play King Henry V in Brad Pitt-Produced Netflix Film The King

Timothée Chalamet will play King Henry V in the Netflix film The King, directed by David Michôd, as Deadline reports.

Fresh off an Oscar nomination for his starring role in Call Me By Your Name, Chalamet will play a young Henry V, who must lead a teetering 1300s England after the death of his brother. While trying to save the empire, he deals with the ongoing Hundred Years’ War with France.

Along with directing the film, Michôd wrote the script alongside Bright’s Joel Edgerton. Michôd, Edgerton and Michôd’s producing partner Liz Watts will produce the project in conjunction with Brad Pitt, Dede Gardener and Jeremy Kleiner of Plan B, with filming set to start in June.

Along with starring in The King, Chalamet will star alongside Steve Carrell in a Plan B drama titled Beautiful Boy for Amazon.
