Claire Danes confirmed that her Golden Globe- and Emmy-winning series Homeland will end with season eight during a Sirius XM interview with Howard Stern, as reported by Deadline. Danes has won two Emmys and two Golden Globes for her impressive performance as the long-running show’s almost anti-protagonist Carrie Mathison.
The actress told Stern she is “conflicted” about the series coming to an end but that she’s “ready for a reprieve from that.” On describing her character, Danes said, “She’s a lot, this Carrie freakin’ Mathison character.” She’s “under constant duress” and “it’s a workout,” the actress said.
This news comes just as Danes also announced her second pregnancy with husband Hugh Dancy—the couple currently has a five-year-old son. Danes assures that her pregnancy will not affect production of the show.
