Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, aka “Star Wars,” aka nonfictional person Chris Pratt, will return to guarding the galaxy in 2019, as the Marvel Cinematic Universe star confirmed in an Instagram post on Thursday. Pratt took to IG to wish his Guardians and Avengers: Infinity War co-star Pom Klementieff (aka Mantis) a happy birthday, adding, “Can’t wait to start shooting Guardians Vol. 3 with her next year!”
We’ve known for over a year that there would be a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3—Guardians writer-director James Gunn promised as much last March, later confirming his return to write and direct the second sequel, and he’s since revealed that Vol. 3 should open in 2020. (We also know that Mark Hamill may show up in it, although that’s far from a sure thing.) So it’s nice to have a concrete timeline on the next (and perhaps last) Guardians adventure.
… Which brings us to the Infinity War of it all. If you haven’t seen the film, you’ll want to step away from this post.
