Let These Vintage Roxy Music Tracks From This Day in 1983 Start Your Long Weekend

Bryan Ferry’s experimental glam rock/new wave project Roxy Music churned out a string of incredible tunes throughout the 1970s and 80s, including hit records like 1973’s Stranded and its follow-up, Country Life. The group’s sleek, vivid rock tracks gave them superstar status in both their native U.K. and the U.S., where they played an epic set of hits from New York’s Radio City Music Hall on May 25, 1983.

This vintage set was recorded just before Roxy Music disbanded later in 1983, although they’ve remained cult favorites for decades. Let these recordings of some of their biggest hits, “Avalon” and “Love is the Drug,” carry you into the long holiday weekend.
