New Order to Release New Concert Documentary Decades

New Order are coming to the small screen.

The British dance-rock legends have announced a new concert documentary, titled Decades, which will premiere Sept. 22 on British TV network Sky Arts. The film follows the band as they re-stage their collaborative performance with visual artist Liam Gillick, So It Goes, for the Manchester International Festival 2017. That performance famously featured a 12-piece synthesizer orchestra.

Half of the film will be concert footage, with the other half featuring interviews with band members and their collaborators. According to the band’s website, Decades highlights the highs and lows of the rehearsal process:

The complexities extend beyond the technical and logistical: this is a band that rarely looks backwards, yet for this project they had to reflect on—and de-construct—the band’s history, in order to create something very new.

New Order ran into some legal trouble in 2015, the same year they released their most recent project, the live album NOMC15. Former bassist Peter Hook filed a lawsuit against the band, seeking New Order and Joy Division assets. The two parties settled their dispute late last year.
