Indie rocker Chris Cohen has shared the fourth and final single from his forthcoming self-titled album, out March 29 on Captured Tracks.
“No Time To Say Goodbye,” a wistful ballad of idyllic 1960s dreaminess, finds shape between ear-catching bass lines and unexpected saxophone. Fans of Ariel Pink and Melody’s Echo Chamber will appreciate the track’s ventures into more lo-fi and psych-pop territory. The song follows previous advance tracks “Edit Out,” “Green Eyes” and “Sweet William.”
Chris Cohen marks the artist’s first time actively collaborating in the studio with others on his own music. “No Time To Say Goodbye,” for instance, features Kasey Knudsen on the saxophone, with lyrics by Zach Phillips and arrangements by Jay Israelson. The process for building the songs would begin with Cohen singing snippets into his phone before fleshing out the melody on piano and, later, constructing a fuller instrumentation in the studio.
