Wonder Con is currently in progress in Anaheim, CA, and comic fans are being treated to a number of new series announcement throughout the weekend. Chief among them, especially for readers of Marvel’s recently concluded Iceman series, was BOOM! Studios’ Ghosted in LA from GLAAD Media Award-nominated writer Sina Grace and Jem and the Holograms artist Siobhan Keenan, announced today at the BOOM! Studios Discover Yours panel.
Ghosted in LA protagonist Daphne Walters moved to Los Angeles to be with the love of her life…or so she thought. Not long after her arrival, her happily-ever-after falls through, and she finds herself in need of a place to live—and a reason to stay thousands of miles away from home. While nursing her broken heart, she ends up at Rycroft Manor, a derelict apartment complex that isn’t as vacant as it seems. Daphne may have expected roommates and neighbors, but she didn’t know they’d be lovesick ghosts and aspiring-actor ghouls.
“I cannot stress how truly, utterly, unbelievably excited I am for Ghosted in LA,” writer Sina Grace said in a statement. “Shannon Watters is an editor who I’ve dreamt of world-building with, and Siobhan Keenan was the first person I thought of when considering artists to bring Daphne Walters and her spectral roommates to (un)life. This project is an absolute dream come true. I get to mix humor, the macabre, pop culture and provide a fresh perspective on my hometown with one of my favorite comic artists… The ghosts of Rycroft Manor may reside in West L.A., but me? I’m in heaven.”
