David Harbour, Rachel Weisz Marked for Marvel’s Black Widow Standalone

David Harbour of Stranger Things and the forthcoming Hellboy reboot has been cast in Scarlett Johansson’s standalone Marvel film Black Widow, per THR. The Favourite Oscar nominee Rachel Weisz is also in early talks for “a key role” in the film, according to Variety.

The film, based on Johansson’s portrayal of the troubled assassin-turned-Avenger, will be directed by Cate Shortland (Lore) with a script from Jac Schaeffer (TiMER).

While Black Widow began its production in June, the details of its plot, or Harbour and Weisz’s characters, are not yet revealed. Florence Pugh (Midsommar) is also attached to star.

Harbour’s Hollywood breakout will also continue with his revival of Jim Hopper in the third season of Netflix’s Stranger Things, beginning July 4.
