Disney+ has announced that a new series based on Jeremy Renner’s archery Avenger Hawkeye is in the works for the new streaming service, according to a report from Variety.
The limited series is said to follow Marvel’s Young Avenger character Kate Bishop, following her mentor Clint Barton’s (Renner) passing of the Hawkeye mantle. There is no confirmation yet as to where on the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline the forthcoming series will land.
Hawkeye is the latest in a long line of MCU inhabitants who will receive the Disney+ series treatment, including Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, and the duo of Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan’s Falcon and Winter Soldier, respectively.
