Drink Holders and Tumblers to Keep your Beer Cold for Hours

The simple foam beer holder might be the greatest beer accessory on the market, a signature accessory at beaches, BBQs, boating, camping, and late evening respites on the sun-drenched back porches, balconies, and decks throughout this beer-loving country of ours. But, as with all things basic, the new wave of drink holders and other vessels tailor-made to keep your drink cold makes a solid case for this being the new age of the forever-cold beverage. And until some so-called innovator attempts to make a smart drink holder (because…why?), these are some of the best ways to step up your outdoor drinking game.

Yeti Rambler Colster

Easily one of the best gifts you can give anyone who drinks anything from a can or (some) 12-ounce bottles, the Rambler Colster the super-cooler company Yeti is made from bomber 18/8 stainless steel with double-walled vacuum insulation that keeps things cold far longer than it’ll take to drink ‘em. Great for when you have abandon your beer to tend to a grill emergency, with a “lock-and-load” twist-on gasket that holds your can in place. Taller 12-ounce bottles don’t work in the Colster, however stout bottles like those from Lagunitas fit like a glove.

Rumpl Beer Blanket

Rumpl started the recent wave of “adventure blankets” in the travel/outdoor space, and now they’ve expanded into beverage protection with their recently launched Beer Blanket. Made of 20D ripstop Nylon with a DWR coating along with a touch of lightweight fiber synthetic insulation, it won’t keep your beverage cold for hours. But unlike hard-bodied drink holders or the old foam models, you can fold this one up and store it in the integrated stuff sack till you need it. It comes in a host of colors as well as two sizes—one for 12- and 16-ounce beverages, and another that’ll fit wine bottles or 40-ounce beverages.

Otterbox Wine Tumbler

With space enough for two standard five-ounce wine pours, the 100% stainless steel Wine Tumbler from Otterbox proves that this company can make more than high-quality smart phone cases. An internal copper lining keeps the vino cold for hours, with a press-in lid to avoid unexpected spills and a choice of five different colors to match you picnic kit or outdoor deck oasis.

HydroFlask True Pint

Consider the True Pint the sister of the Wine Tumbler. This 16-ounce vessel keeps beverages cold and crisp for hours—ideal for beer enthusiasts who insist on pouring beer out of said can or bottle, and even better to sample the latest growler find. Made of 18/8 pro-grade stainless steel, it’ll live forever, with a TempShield insulation akin to HydroFlask’s award-winning water bottles. The texture is perfect, with a beveled lip at its mouth, just like you’d find in a pint glass. It comes in a variety of matte colors.

Brumate Hopsulator Trio V2

The Hopsulator Trio V2 wins points for more than just its bad-ass name. It manages to fit both 12-ounce and 16-ounce cans. How? By using a spacer, which drops inside the insulated body when you go with a standard-sized can rather than a tall boy, a spacer that you can also freeze to keep the can cold. A screw-down rim keeps everything in place, and it also comes with a lid, letting you transform it into a 16-ounce pint glass. And to up their tech game, the Hopsulator also uses a push-lock system to make it easy to insert and remove your beverage.

Orca Coolers Rocket

The profile of the Rocket indicates it’s made to insulate 12-ounce bottles rather than cans, with a twist-off upper section and a lid—both of which nest inside the main vessel when not in use. Underneath, a smartly integrated bottle opener. The double-walled vacuum-sealed drink holder will keep beverages cold for up to 12 hours, with an interior copper clad and anti-microbial treated neoprene strips lining the main chamber to hold the bottle in place. Ditch the top section, and the Rocket can also hold 12-ounce cans.

Stanley Classic Beer Stein

If visions of Octoberfest dance perpetually in your fantasies, the Classic Beer Stein from Stanley is essential in making that dream a reality. Made of 18/8 stainless steel and weighing in at a hefty 1.3 pounds, it’ll stand up the heartiest of hoisted toasts, with double-wall vacuum insulation that’ll keep 24 ounces of brew cold for up to nine hours. Latch down the thumb-triggered lid and you can also save your brew from any unwanted invaders between sips.

Snow Peak Titanium Sake Bottle

Those who enjoy sake in the outdoors are probably a narrow demographic—but if you count yourself among them, you’re sure to appreciate the graceful beauty of the Titanium Sake Bottle from Snow Peak. Perhaps even enough to drop $180 on it. Made in Japan, the single-walled bottle holds 18.25 fluid ounces and weighs a feathery 4.8 ounces, and can easily be dipped in a fresh spring to chill your sake before you enjoy some fireside sushi…if that’s even a thing.
