Watch the Grown-Up Losers’ Club Fight Pennywise in New Trailer for It: Chapter 2

The Losers’ Club is getting back together for the climactic final battle with Pennywise in It Chapter 2, and the second trailer for the film was released at the kick-off of San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday.

Set 27 years after the 2017 film It, the second chapter sees the group of kids all grown up and returning to Derry, Maine, after they receive a devastating phone call. After returning to the town, it seems the adults are going to have to revisit their childhood trauma to defeat Pennywise the Clown once and for all.

The new trailer for the film shows some more insight into the characters’ fight against Pennywise. The trailer reminisces on the club’s oath that if Pennywise isn’t dead and ever comes back, that they’d come back, too—and they have. With all of the Losers’ Club back, the final fight against Pennywise is in motion, and things sure look creepy. With mirror mazes full of horror, dingy sewers, tons of red balloons and Pennywise’s undeniably creepy face, the trailer is jam-packed with tinges of horror from the forthcoming movie.

Out Sept. 6, the second chapter stars James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, James Ransone, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan and Andy Bean, with Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise. Finn Wolfhard, Jaeden Lieberher, Chosen Jacobs, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis and Wyatt Oleff will all be returning as the young versions of Losers’ Club members seen in the 2017 film.

The film received a teaser trailer at the beginning of May in which Beverly (Chastain) goes back to her childhood home in Derry, where an old lady now resides. Already eerie in nature, the teaser steps it up a notch when Beverly sees the face of Pennywise in a picture on the wall. From there chaos ensues offscreen, and viewers get a snippet of the naked old woman, who can now be presumed is Pennywise, running toward Beverly.

Andy Muschietti is back directing It: Chapter Two, with Gary Dauberman adapting the script from Stephen King’s novel again. The 2017 remake of the 1990 film with Tim Curry’s Pennywise brought in both critical acclaim and over $700 million globally at the box office, becoming the highest-grossing horror movie ever made.
