Indie singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus is canceling her July tour of Europe due to an injury, she announced on Twitter after consulting with her doctor and band members. The tour was set to kick off today, July 2, in Dortmund, Germany.
“I’ve been dealing with an injury the past few weeks, and after a lot of thinking and some doctor advisement, we’ve decided to cancel our tour in Europe that was meant to start today,” Dacus tweeted. “I would only agree to cancel shows if I was positive it was the only option, and in this case, this is the only safe decision.”
Dacus assured European fans that she would “make it a priority” to return to the cities she’s missing.

Despite the European tour cancellation, Dacus’ North American dates are still happening as planned for now, featuring stops in Chicago, Portland, Seattle and more.
On the tour, Dacus will be pulling from originals and covers tied to specific holidays that she has been hard at work recording for a couple years. The series of holiday-themed tracks will be released in an EP titled 2019 later this year.
So far, Dacus has released her original song “My Mother & I,” which she performed with her mom on Mother’s Day, as well as her cover of Édith Piaf’s classic “La Vie En Rose.” She most recently released “Forever Half Mast” for the Fourth of July, with songs still to come tied to Halloween, Christmas, New Years and, most importantly, Bruce Springsteen’s birthday.
