Saturday Night Live co-head writer and “Weekend Update” co-anchor Colin Jost has joined the cast of Warner Bros.’ forthcoming Tom and Jerry film, per Deadline.
Jost joins Chlöe Grace Moretz and Michael Peña in the live-action/animation hybrid movie. The film version of the 1940 William Hannah and Joseph Barbera cartoon will be helmed by director Tim Story.
Jost is a ten-time Emmy nominee for his work on SNL, and has received five Writers Guild Awards for the show, as well. Past film credits of the Weekend Update anchor include How to Be Single and Staten Island Summer.
Last we heard, the Tom and Jerry movie was set for an April 16, 2021, release.
