Author André Aciman and Actor Michael Stuhlbarg Discuss the Call Me by Your Name Sequel

Author André Aciman chatting with actor Michael Stuhlbarg is the beautiful content we all need right now. The pair met up with journalist David Goldberg at a Macmillan Audio event to discuss Find Me, Aciman’s long-awaited sequel to Call Me by Your Name, and we’re thrilled to exclusively share the video.

Call Me by Your Name, Aciman’s Lambda Literary Award-winning novel, follows two young men’s summer romance in 1980s Italy and its consequences over the next 20 years. Elio and Oliver’s relationship has resonated with readers since the novel’s 2007 release, and their story reached an even wider audience after the film adaptation debuted in theaters in 2017.

Aciman finally returned to Elio and Oliver’s world in Find Me, which hit shelves this week. It spotlights Elio’s father, Sami, now divorced and traveling to visit his son. The book also reveals how Elio, now a classical pianist in Europe, and Oliver, a New England college professor with a family, are coping on opposite sides of the Atlantic.

Stuhlbarg, who played Sami in the Call Me by Your Name movie, narrated the Find Me audiobook. Check out the video below to watch him discuss the novels and the film with Aciman (as well as the book-to-screen differences in Sami’s iconic speech to Elio—you know the one).
