Gary Oldman to Star in Newly Ordered Apple Series, Slow Horses

Darkest Hour Oscar winner Gary Oldman has been slated to star in new Apple TV+ series, Slow Horses. An adaptation of Mick Herron’s espionage books, the series follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 called Slough House.

Stage-trained Oldman, who played Sirius Black in the Harry Potter series, will return to Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy territory to take on the role of Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but irascible leader of the spies whose career-ending mistakes have left them stuck in Slough House. This will be Oldman’s first-ever TV series regular role.

The show will be written by Veep’s Will Smith, who will executive produce alongside Graham Yost, Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Gail Mutrux and Douglas Urbanski.

Apple TV+ launched two weeks ago and is available for $4.99 a month. Check out our ranking of every Apple TV+ show (so far) right here.
