Lætitia Tamko, better known as Vagabon, has announced a spring headlining tour following her eight-week support of Angel Olsen. The tour spans 27 dates across three months, with Vagabon crisscrossing the entire continent. The tour comes in support of her 2019 self-titled Nonesuch Records release Vagabon. It was an indie-pop favorite of ours last year, with standout track “Water Me Down” making our list of the year’s best songs. Her album is an eclectic blend of pop sentiment and expert, self-taught guitar playing.
The former electrical and computer engineer appeared Monday on WFUV to perform her songs “Every Woman” and “In a Bind.” In the interview, Tamko talks about her transition from engineering to working as a full-time musician, including how her background allowed her to more easily learn the recording software Logic to produce every piece of her early music. She also discusses her own self-doubt in her interview, describing cloudiness in regards to both the music she wanted to create as well as the process behind making it. Tamko, who moved to America at a young age with her family as refugees, also speaks about the idea of home and how it relates to her record.
