Listen to Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever’s New Track, “Cars In Space”

Melbourne-based “tough pop / soft punk” purveyors Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever are back with a new track, “Cars In Space,” their first new music since their acclaimed debut album Hope Downs (one of 2018’s best records, if you ask us) and 2019 7” single “In The Capital” / “Read My Mind.”

Rolling Blackouts C.F. vocalist/guitarist Fran Keaney describes the propulsive and polished “Cars In Space” as “the swirling words and thoughts before a breakup.” That same aura of acrimony pervades the single’s accompanying music video, directed by Nick McKinlay (aka Nick Mckk) and Aussie singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin, in which the band perform their new song alongside an unhappy couple at what a press release describes as “a quintessentially Australian drive-in.”

No word yet on a second album from Rolling Blackouts C.F., but we’ll keep you posted on any further updates. In the meantime, the band will play a smattering of Australian music festivals this month and next before doing the same in Europe and the U.K. in May and June.
