Backstreet’s Back: Backstreet Boys Release New Single, Announce New Album and World Tour

The Backstreet Boys have announced the release of their next album DNA, coming out in January, with the brand new single “Chances.”

The fivesome—made up of Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough and AJ McLean—is back with fresh music and a massive 2019 world tour.

DNA, the group’s tenth studio album, features songs written by Lauv, Andy Grammer, Stuart Crichton (DNCE) and Mike Sabath (J Balvin). The record is the group’s first full-length effort since In a World Like This in 2013.

To get fans excited, BSB released lead single “Chances,” penned by OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder and Shawn Mendes, on Friday. Then, in the spring, BSB will set off on the DNA World Tour all over Europe and North America.

“When this group started 26 years ago, and through all the highs and lows of our career, we’ve had to learn it wasn’t about us as individuals,” Dorough explained in a statement. “But about what’s best for the group.”

“That’s what I love about this album. We were able to bring all of our influences and styles into one coherent piece of work,” added Richardson. “These songs are a great representation of who we are as individuals and who we are as a group. It’s our DNA. We’re really proud of that.”

“The journey is ongoing with us and there is so much left to do,” said Littrell. “We’re living the next chapter that hasn’t been told yet, and that’s exciting.”

Tickets for the DNA World Tour will go on sale Nov. 14. Every ticket purchased for the North American tour will include a physical copy of DNA.

DNA drops on Jan. 25, 2019, via RCA Records. The album is available for preorder here.
