Fiona Apple (indirectly) took to Twitter to tease an early release of her new album Fetch the Bolt Cutters, which she announced via a New Yorker interview in early March. In a video also posted to the semi-official Fiona Apple Rocks Tumblr page, Apple used her friend’s Zelda Hallman’s Twitter account (again) to ask fans if she should release the album early.
“Should I release it?” she asked. “Like soon? Like really soon? I think I’m gonna.” Here’s hoping. Watch the full video below:
Hallman states in the tweet that “they” (officials from Apple’s record label, we can presume) are telling her to wait until October to release the album, but she doesn’t give many specifics beyond that. More than likely, the delay is being proposed by touring managers due to coronavirus concerns. Apple has used Hallman’s Twitter page for serious announcements before, so we can take this news is trustworthy. As always, we’ll keep you updated with any news of a release.
