Exclusive: Watch Michelle Malone’s “Sugar on My Tongue” Video

Michelle Malone has released the music video for her song “Sugar on My Tongue,” premiering exclusively here at Paste. The song comes from her 2018 album Slings & Arrows.
The music video (dir. Michael Dunaway and Jason Winn), which features a sunset-drenched Atlanta cityscape and the nostalgia of those warmer, whiskey-soaked evenings with friends, is a bluesy, rock ‘n’ roll ode to the ones who hold your heart.
“It’s an R&B soul-inspired love song I wrote with Eliot Bronson,” Malone explains. With her honey-slick, Janis Joplin-reminiscent crooning, it’s not clear if the “sugar” refers to the song or someone else.
