Valley Maker Shares New Song, “Supernatural”

Valley Maker, aka Seattle singer/songwriter Austin Crane, has released a new song, with a hauntingly simplistic video to match.

Crane first made ripples with the 2018 release of his second full studio album, Rhododendron—a lush and open-hearted atonement largely written during the months surrounding the 2016 U.S. presidential election while Crane was traveling for his PhD research on migration, borders and humanitarianism.

“Supernatural” offers a heartier lushness via warmly lit folk anchored by deep percussion, remorseful horns, and delicate backup vocals and production work from fellow indie folkster Ali Lacey of Novo Amor. The video, directed by Joseph Kolean and Zach Gutierrez, captures this atmosphere expertly, intertwining natural elements with eerily peaceful vignettes. Some might describe it as supernatural.
