Daniel Brühl is out promoting his new TNT series, The Alienist, and stopped by the Paste Studio for a chat. Of course, there was plenty of talk about with regard to his role as psychologist during The Gilded Age—when they were known as “alienists”—but we also dive into topics like tapas bars, chicken and waffles, puffed sleeves, and Berlin.

The Alienist premieres Monday, Jan. 22 at 9 p.m. on TNT.
