The Office Cast Shares Holiday Reunion Photo

The Office fans got a welcome holiday surprise on Sunday, as several cast members from the beloved NBC series met up at showrunner Greg Daniels’ home for a reunion brunch. Angela Kinsey, who played Angela Martin, shared a photo from the reunion, as well as Jenna Fischer, perhaps best known for playing Pam on the show.

Fischer explains that the cast wanted to recreate a memorable holiday photo from the series, although a few faces were sadly missing from the reunion. Steve Carell, Ellie Kemper, B.J. Novak, Mindy Kaling, Craig Robinson and Kate Flannery weren’t able to make it to the event, as Fischer mentions in her caption.

While there’s not yet been confirmation on the matter, the new photo has fueled speculation of a possible The Office reboot. Last year, it was reported that NBC was in talks to bring back the mockumentary-style sitcom, albeit minus Steve Carell as Michael Scott. Last month, several cast members launched a mini-The Office reunion during Carell’s SNL hosting gig, in which Fischer, Ed Helms and Kemper dropped by during his monologue to joke about all the money on the line.

“I just don’t think you understand just how much money we’re talking about. Like, you wouldn’t have to do all those sad movies anymore,” said Helms, who played Andy Bernard, Carell’s co-worker and successor as Dunder Mifflin regional manager in later seasons.

It seems unlikely that Carell, who was there to promote his latest film, the drug-addiction drama and awards contender Beautiful Boy, would return to The Office, which he left at the end of its seventh season in 2011. Still, fans remain hopeful about the prospects of a revival for their beloved series, and Carell also left his former cast-mates with a nostalgic note regarding yesterday’s reunion.
