Still royally tuckered out from some late-night Girl Talkin', day three at Bonnaroo was pretty mellow for me. I spent most of it catching the tunes at the Sonic Stage (Brett Dennen, Grace Potter, Heartless Bastards, etc.) where the lovely Paste oasis is stationed. In early evening, I caught a solid half hour of Athens, Ga. kooks, Of Montreal, who absolutely won me over. As soon as I return from Manchester, I plan on listening to their songs that have been sullenly sitting on my iPod, just waiting to be loved. ... read more

Usually at Bonnaroo, my musical ADD makes me hop from one show to another after six or eight songs—there’s just so much good stuff to hear. But two artists accounted for over five hours of my time yesterday—Wilco and Bruce Springsteen. A two-hour set from Wilco reminded me that the band has two of my favorite guitarists—Jeff Tweedy and Nils Cline—and Pat Sansone ain't no slouch. I Tweeted to the world (or at least the small portion of the world that gives a crap about my proclamations) that there are very few live bands better than Wilco right now. But... read more

(JUST A FEW MORE REASONS TO HELP SAVE PASTE)Next week, I'll celebrate my 6th anniversary at this magazine. When I started as Paste's second-ever intern on June 1, 2003, we were still a tiny operation. Only five of us were in the office full-time: publisher Nick Purdy, editor Josh Jackson, assistant editor Jason Killingsworth, myself (who would go on to become associate editor) and my intern cohort, Steven Bevilaqua. Other important folks—like senior/film editor and future Paste president Tim Porter, design director José Reyes, and future associate publisher Joe Kirk—were working part-time, since Paste couldn't yet support a full staff. Back then, we were in our old... read more

Folk legend Pete Seeger is having a birthday party at Madison Square Garden. The fact that the environmentalist crusader and pioneer of protest music is turning a spry 90 is a big reason to celebrate on its own, but when the guest list includes Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews, Eddie Vedder, John Mellencamp, Ben Harper, Billy Bragg and Emmylou Harris, to name just a few of the 50+ artists scheduled to pay their respects on stage, it's time to kick up your heels and grab a ticket. ... read more
