12 Design Awards Accepting Entries in February and March

Design Features

Award season isn’t just for TV and film stars. There are plenty of trophies out there for designers in February and March as well, which means it’s time to brush off your best work and submit it for the judges.

ADC Awards for Advertising
Deadline: February 2
Eligibility: International Students and Professionals
Categories: TV/Film, Radio, Press Advertising, Craft (Press & Broadcast), Promotional Materials, Poster/Billboard for Advertising, Branded Content & Entertainment, Pop Up Advertising, Sound Design, Copywriting, Music Video, Integrated
All work must have been released between February 8, 2014-February 6, 2015

ADC Tomorrow Awards
The Tomorrow Awards recognize innovative ideas in advertising, tech, and design.

Eligibility: International Students and Professionals

ADC Young Gun Awards
Deadline: February 28
Eligibility: International, Entrants must be under the age of 30 and have been working professionally (freelance or full time) for two years.

Print magazine’s Regional Design Annual
Deadline: Early: February 27, 2015. Regular: April 10, 2015
Eligibility: Any art directors, designers, illustrators, photographers, typographers working in the United States
Submission Type: Printed communication or web design published in 2014
Entry Fees: Early Deadline: $75/single piece $100 campaign/series
Regular Deadline: $85/single piece $110/campaign/series
Awards: Publication in the 2015 Regional Design Annual issue of Print and on the Regional Design Annual website

2016 AIDS Conference Logo Design Contest
Deadline: February 15, 2015
Eligibility: Anyone between the ages of 10-30
Submission Type: Original logo for the AIDS contest that incorporates the required information
Entry Fees: none
Awards: Logo used for the conference, paid trip to the 2016 conference in Durban, South Africa for winner and a companion, an award ceremony at the 2016 AIDS Conference

AOI’s World Illustration Awards
Deadline: February 9, 2015
Eligibility: Professionals, New Talent (Undergraduate Students, Post-Graduate Students, and Graduates within two years of graduating), Commissioners and Agents (submitting work on behalf of the individual they commissioned or represent), Tutor (submitting on behalf of students)
Submission Type: Advertising, Books, Children’s Books, Design, Editorial, Public Realm, Research and Knowledge Communication, Self Initiated Work
Entry Fees: Single piece $23.42 (converted from Euros), Multiple pieces (up to 5) $42.16/each (converted from Euros)
Awards: Entrants that have been shortlisted will permanently have their work on the AOI’s website, promoted through the AOI’s network, the possibility of having their work appear in a touring exhibition, potential selection for an accompanying publication

SEGD Global Design Awards
Deadline: Regular: January 31, 2015 Late: February 14, 2015
Eligibility: International Professionals and Students (Student work must have been done during 2013 or 2014 by full time students in a recognized design program)
Submission Type: Exhibition, Placemaking and Identity, Public Installation, Strategy/Research/Planning, Wayfinding, Interactive Experiences, Digital Experience Content
Projects must have been completed between the beginning of 2012 to the end of 2014
Entry Fees: SEGD Members: Professional: $250/project Student: Free. Non Members: Professional: $450/project Student: $50. Entries submitted after February 1 will incur a $50 late fee.
Awards: Prestige, publication in SEGD’s journal and website, recognition at the Global Design Awards Celebration during the SEGD Conference.

D&AD New Blood Awards
Deadline: March 31, 2015
Eligibility: International students and recent graduates (within the past two years) and anyone under 24 years old
Submission Type: Original response to specific briefs curated by D&AD. Included briefs are from companies and organizations ranging from Airbnb, WWF, Facebook, BBC and more.
Entry Fees: 20 Euro/entry for non members 15 Euros/entry for members
Awards: Prestige

D&AD Professional Awards
Deadline: February 18, 2015
Eligibility: International Companies and Freelancers
Submission Type: There are 25 categories, each with multiple sub categories. All entries must have been commercially released between January 1, 2014-February 28, 2015
Entry Fees: Entry prices vary by category but range from $170-$1220
Awards: Prestige

Posterheroes
Deadline: March 1, 2015
Eligibility: No Restrictions
Submission Type: Original poster depicting the production, transformation, distribution or disposal of food. In-depth descriptions are available on the contest website.
Entry Fees: None
Awards: Winning entries will be published on posterheroes.org, and on the Posterheroes and PLUG Association social media outlets.

Poster Competition for Copenhagen Harbour Festival 2015
Deadline: March 18, 2015
Eligibility: No Restrictions
Submission Type: Original poster design using the required elements
Entry Fees: None
Awards: Winning design will be used on all marketing materials for the Harbour Festival including banners, programs, posters, and poster columns

Azure Magazine’s AZ Awards
Deadline: February 20, 2015
Eligibility: International professional designers, architects, undergraduate students enrolled in design and architecture programs in 2014, clients and manufacturers
Submission Type: Projects and products that fall into the design, architecture, landscape architecture, interiors, or concepts category. Projects must have been completed by December 31, 2014, products must be prototyped or in production, and concepts must have been developed or presented for the first time in 2014. Student work submitted to the A+ Student Award category can be an industrial design product, architectural structure, landscape, interior space or unbuilt/unrealized concept
Entry Fees: $150 per professional entry or $30 for student entry
Awards: Prestige, recognition in print, online and at the AZ Awards Gala. Student winner receives $5000
