The Five Best Reasons to Upgrade to an iPhone 6

Tech Lists Iphone

There are a wide variety of reasons why people upgrade their iPhones every year—the feeling of unboxing something new and shiny, the community of people in line that form outside of stores, or perhaps just the fact that you are particularly clumsy with your phone.

However, there are actually some pretty good reasons to upgrade to the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus this time around. Here are the five best reasons why you should upgrade to Apple’s newest:

1. Bigger Size

This one might be obvious, but it’s always been the primary draw of Apple’s newest line of smartphones. Both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are significantly larger than anything they’ve put out in the past. More specifically, the iPhone 6’s display is 0.6 inches larger than the iPhone 5s, while the the iPhone 6 Plus’ is 1.5 inches larger than the 5s. The larger screen has been a long awaited response to increasingly large Android devices and the changing way in which people use their smartphones. A bigger display means more room for games, apps, and videos—and both the 4.7” and 5.5” models are good sizes for what customers want.

2. The A8 Processor

Although Apple has been using a proprietary 64-bit architecture since the iPhone 5s’ A7 chip, but the upgrade in speed and graphical power is always a welcome addition. Apple says its new chip is 25% faster in gaming and camera performance, which is just what you want in an iPhone with a bigger screen.

3. Apple Pay

Once things really get kicked off with Apple Pay, it’ll be the best way to impress your friends with your new, fancy device. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have NFC (Near Field Communication) built in so that you can pay for things just by holding your phone in front of the reader and approving the purchase. A number of retailers have already pledged to use the system and if the popularity of the system continues, it just might be the first NFC system to really succeed in a mainstream way.

4. Improved camera

Although the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have the same 6-megapixel camera that was on the iPhone 5s, Apple has still made some pretty big improvements to the camera on its newest devices. Both versions feature a faster autofocus and the iPhone 6 Plus features optical image stabilization. While it’s not the first smartphone to have the feature, its Apple’s first time implementing the super helpful technology. Say goodbye to those blurry pictures!

5. Full day battery

A long standing complaint with the iPhone has been its less than full day battery. And while the iPhone 6 doesn’t quite compete with the likes of the LG G3 or the OnePlus One, the iPhone 6’s larger battery should be enough to satisfy those who are just hoping to get through the day without having to do a second charge. The iPhone 6 has an 1810 mAh battery, while the iPhone 6 Plus has a massive 2915 mAh battery—more than enough juice to get you through the day.
