A Series of Unfortunate Events Gets Return Date in Dreadful Season Two Teaser

Folks who kicked off 2018 with a heaping helping of Netflix were treated to a rather unpleasant surprise on New Year’s Day, as the first thing they saw when firing up the streaming service was Count Olaf’s (Neil Patrick Harris) ugly mug. The blade-wielding bane of the Baudelaire siblings peeked his huge head into living rooms everywhere to inform viewers about the coming return of A Series of Unfortunate Events—season two’s 10 episodes stream on March 30. New year, same old Olaf.

Along with Olaf’s distressing visage, the video above also offers us a quick look at the Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler) adaptation’s second season, teasing the televised versions of Snicket’s The Austere Academy, The Ersatz Elevator and The Vile Village—those would be the fifth, sixth and seventh entries in Snicket’s 13-book series. Presumably, The Hostile Hospital will also feature in the new season. The show’s first season concluded with the events of book four, The Miserable Mill.

As Netflix summarizes, Unfortunate “recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans—Violet, Klaus, and Sunny—and their extraordinary encounters with the devious Count Olaf who will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. Foiling his many dastardly plans and disguises, the young siblings discover clues to their parents’ mysterious death, links to a covert organization, and begin to unlock long-held family secrets.” The show stars Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes, Presley Smith, Patrick Warburton and K. Todd Freeman, with season two additions including Lucy Punch, Nathan Fillion, Tony Hale, Sara Rue and Roger Bart.

Again, A Series of Unfortunate Events returns on March 30—watch the new teaser above.
