Dinosaur Jr. Release Chugging New Song, “Goin Down”

Next week, Dinosaur Jr. will return with Give A Glimpse of What Yer Not, their first new studio album in four years.

Today, they’ve shared album opener “Goin Down” via Spotify. It features a chugging J Mascis guitar riff with Lou Barlow’s metallic bass thwacks and drummer Murph’s steady background stomps cementing together into the classic boulder-busting rock ‘n’ roll they made their legend on.

Fans got a unique preview of the song last week via “Solo Extractions,” which crammed all of Mascis’ face-melting guitar solos from Give A Glimpse of What Yer Not into one epic song. Earlier this summer, the band shared the excellent single “Tiny,” which later soundtracked one lucky bulldog’s skateboard dreams.

Listen to “Goin Down” below and prepare for Give A Glimpse of What Yer Not’s release next Friday on Aug. 5 via Jagjaguwar.
