Eddie Vedder Writes New Song for Twin Peaks Revival

Music News Eddie Vedder

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has written a new song for David Lynch’s Twin Peaks television revival. Vedder premiered the new song, titled “Out of Sand,” last weekend at the Ohana Music Festival in California.

In addition to contributing to the series’ soundtrack, Vedder is also named as a cast member. The cast list was released in April and includes the names for more than 200 people. In addition to Vedder, the list includes musicians Trent Reznor, Sky Ferreira, Sharon Van Etten and more. The series was supposed to premiere this year on Showtime, but has been delayed until 2017 after a dispute between David Lynch and the network.

It is likely that Vedder’s role includes him playing himself, as he has made cameo appearances on shows in the past. Most recently, he was featured in another Showtime series, playing himself in the season finale of Roadies. He also made a cameo appearance on IFC’s Portlandia in 2012.

Vedder’s new song could possibly hint at new material for Pearl Jam, whose last album was released in 2013. Watch Vedder debut “Out of Sand” live below.
