Elizabeth Debicki and Robert Pattinson Join Christopher Nolan’s Forthcoming Film

Elizabeth Debicki and Robert Pattinson have signed on to the cast of Christopher Nolan’s forthcoming film, which just yesterday (March 19) added Oscar nominee John David Washington as its star, Variety reports. Whatever Nolan’s project ends up becoming, so far we are very on board.

There are scant details about the movie currently, except for its July 17, 2020, release date. Production begins later this year and is being headed up by Nolan and his wife, Emma Thomas. The talent-heavy call sheet is quite promising, though.

Just last year, some of Debicki’s credits included Steve McQueen’s stellar Widows and, well, The Cloverfield Paradox, though we won’t hold that one against her. Pattinson has fully separated himself from his wizard and vampire days, bringing a frenetic energy to his performance in the criminally underrated 2017 drama Good Time. He also appears in High Life, the sensual sci-fi thriller from Claire Denis hitting cinemas on April 12 (watch the trailer here). Washington picked up SAG and Golden Globe Award nominations last year for his leading role in Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman.

While we know pretty much nothing about the plot of the film itself, a Variety insider describes it as a “massive action blockbuster.” However, the announcement yesterday from Variety included a denial that it’ll be a romantic thriller a la Alfred Hitchcock’s North by Northwest, which was then removed, suggesting there may very well be truth to those rumors.

Comb through everything else we know about Nolan’s forthcoming film so far here.
