Hijinx Ensue for David Oyelowo in This Absurd Red-Band Trailer for Amazon’s Gringo

David Oyelowo is best known for his charismatic performance as Martin Luther King Jr. in Selma, but as this red-band trailer for Amazon Studios’ Gringo shows, he can ham it up in a comedy as well. Starring Oyelowo, Charlize Theron, Joel Edgerton, Amanda Seyfried, Thandie Newton and Sharlto Copley, this drug cartel action flick/dark comedy looks like a relentless and absurd romp.

Directed by Nash Edgerton, a stuntman, director and brother of Joel, Gringo follows Oyelowo as Harold Soyinka, a down-on-his-luck American businessman who is embroiled in trouble with the drug cartel after his cutthroat bosses (Theron and Edgerton) send him on a business trip to Mexico.

Watch the trailer for yourself above, and look out for the film in theaters starting March 9, 2018.
