JR JR, formerly known as Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., has announced five new summer tour dates in support of its self-titled third album. Composed of Josh Epstein and Daniel Zott, both of Detroit, the pair decided to change their name when they started gaining popularity and saw confusion with the NASCAR driver among the public. The single “Gone” from JR JR has found great success on Spotify with more than 14 million streams and is featured in the trailer for Sausage Party starring Seth Rogen (which will hit theaters on Aug. 11).
JR JR stopped by the Paste studio in December to play “Break My Fall” and “Philip the Engineer” from their September 2015 release.
The dates include festival performances and one show in Mexico. Most of the dates are already on sale at jrjrmusic.com. Tickets for new dates will go on sale this Friday, May 20.
