Jenny Hval’s voice is beautifully hypnotic in a new track, “Conceptual Romance,” off her forthcoming album, Blood Bitch.
But it’s not just the Norwegian’s singer’s voice that lulls you into a trance. As she sings about waking up “high on madness” after dreaming of a break-up, the strings and wind instruments swell behind her in the dreamy soundscape, and the world falls away as she continues on about isolation and failures.
