Comedian, actor, writer, director—Louis C.K. is many things, and the prolific funnyman is adding Jeopardy Power Player to the list. C.K. will compete as a guest contestant on tonight’s episode of Jeopardy, and if he wins, he’ll earn $50,000 for the Fistula Foundation, an organization that provides medical care for women in poor countries suffering from obstetric fistula, a serious childbirth-related injury.
“A friend had told me about Fistula Foundation so I went on their site and saw they take PayPal so I just sent a bunch of money to them and they were very sweet nice people,” C.K. explained to Washington Life Magazine. “I’ve stayed in touch and anytime I do anything that’s a charity thing I usually end up giving it to them.” When asked if he planned to be funny on the game show, C.K. said, “I don’t know! I want to win the money for the Fistula Foundation so I’m going to try really hard and I’m not usually funny in unfunny contexts.”
“America’s favorite quiz show” will also feature more than two dozen other power players this week, including silver-haired news anchor Anderson Cooper, acclaimed author Jonathan Franzen, Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner, Senator (and former comedian) Al Franken and 60 Minutes correspondent Lara Logan. C.K.’s competition will include CNN’s Kate Bolduan and the Washington Post’s Jonathan Capehart, who are playing for Free Arts NYC and Sasha Bruce Youthwork, respectively.
C.K. is having a big week all around: the comedian just recently revealed his massive slate of summer and early fall stand-up tour dates, with tickets going for just $50 or less (with a few exceptions) and more dates to be added sometime in July. Fans who can’t make it to one of C.K.’s shows will have to settle for his Jeopardy appearance—the episode airs tonight at 7:30 p.m. EST on ABC. You can also watch C.K. play fake Jeopardy on SNL below.
