Matt and Kim Get All Nostalgic With “Glad I Tried”

Matt and Kim strike again with their new single “Glad I Tried,” off their forthcoming album Almost Everyday, arriving May 4 via Fader Label. The new song features Santigold, Kevin Ray (Walk the Moon) and Travis Hawley (Night Riots).

Much like “Forever” and this past February’s “Like I Used To Be,” the synth-pop duo are very much nostalgic for the past but in a feel-good way. The duo use their trademark sound to create a sense of euphoria with synths, anthemic pop melodies and simple piano. The lyric content mirrors the happy outlook as the duo sings, “Back when I was still alive / Thought I was old at 25 / But bruised till the end of time / Spent my whole life in my prime.”

The lyric video for the song captures its spirit by showcasing Matt and Kim at their best: on the stage. Throughout the clip, Matt and Kim are seen playing their hearts and giving their all at a concert while thousands of fans cheer, sing and crowd-surf during the set.

With Almost Everyday’s release date quickly approaching, the duo is releasing a limited-edition vinyl of the album, which you can preorder here, in addition to the physical and digital version.

As Matt and Kim continue to tour, everything seems to be falling into place for a comeback.
