1. Excerpt from “In the House upon the Dirt between the Lake and the Woods”

Michigan writer Matt Bell reads a passage from his newest novel, “In The House Upon The Dirt Between The Lake And The Woods,” a tale of a hunter and his wife, who have been unable to have a family of their own until they bring into their home a ghost child named the fingerling and a conjured little creature called the foundling. This was taped during the 2013 Mission Creek Festival in Iowa City, Iowa, at the Blue Moose Tap House, with Amelia Gray watching and Divine Fits nearly to the club for soundcheck and their session taping.
