Netflix Releases Debut Trailer for Quincy Jones Documentary

Netflix has released the first trailer for the forthcoming documentary QUINCY, about the life and work of famed producer Quincy Jones. The movie was co-directed by Quincy’s daughter Rashida Jones and Alan Hicks, and will be premiering at this week’s Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 9, ahead of its global release on Sept. 21.

The movie features archival and contemporary footage, as well as interviews with such notable artists as Paul McCartney, Kendrick Lamar, Oprah Winfrey and Will Smith. It covers Jones’ nearly 70-year career in the music industry, spanning from his early years with Mercury Records in the ‘60s up through his tutelage of modern hip-hop and R&B artists.
