Netflix Renews Lost in Space for Season Two

Netflix’s Lost in Space has been saved for another season.

The streaming giant is bringing back the galactic series for a second season following its April 13 first season premiere, which dropped to the tune of 6.3 million viewers in just the first three days, according to Variety. Set 30 years in the future, the 10-episode season gathered relatively lukewarm reviews, but the show must have landed well with audiences, as it garnered a 74 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. We listed it as one of five can’t-miss new TV shows for April 2018. There’s no premiere date set for season two as of now.

The show, a reboot of the original sci-fi series from the 1960s, follows the futuristic Robinson family as they embark on a journey to colonize outer space and thereby create a new life for themselves. However, their mission turns turbulent when their spacecraft is thrown off course, causing the family to crash on a mysterious and dangerous planet.

The show stars Molly Parker and Toby Stephens, as well as Maxwell Jenkins as the young but brave Will Robinson. You can learn more about the show by watching Netflix’s featurette highlighting cast interviews and behind-the-scenes footage. Lost in Space is streaming now on Netflix.
