Patton Oswalt’s Talking for Clapping Is Getting a Digital Release
Photos by Eddy Chen/NetflixPatton Oswalt is quietly one of the best stand-ups alive, so it’s no surprise that his most recent special, Talking for Clapping, took home both an Emmy and a Grammy. Thankfully, the acclaimed hourlong special will soon be available beyond the confines of Netflix: Talking for Clapping is getting a digital release on Aug. 25 via aspecialthing Records.
Oswalt shot the special, his sixth, at San Francisco’s Fillmore Theater, covering everything from marriage equality and fatherhood to the most wildly incompetent birthday clown of all time. Talking for Clapping received a limited vinyl release (also via aspecialthing) last fall, shortly before it won the Grammy for Best Comedy Album. Soon after that, it landed on Paste’s list of 2016’s very best stand-up specials.
