Stream Paul McCartney’s New Album, Egypt Station

Five years after his last full album of new material, Paul McCartney has done it again with his 17th solo venture, Egypt Station.

Out on Sept. 7 via Capitol Records, the Greg Kurstin- and Ryan Tedder-produced album contains 14 eclectic tracks, each one a different destination from McCartney’s travelogue.

“I liked the words ‘Egypt Station.’ It reminded me of the ‘album’ albums we used to make … Egypt Station starts off at the station on the first song and then each song is like a different station,” said McCartney in a statement. “So it gave us some idea to base all the songs around that. I think of it as a dream location that the music emanates from.”

At 72, the legendary English rocker has truly lost all need for subtlety, weaving his characteristic schoolboy irresponsibility through the darkly clueless “I Don’t Know” and the ridiculous “Fuh You” (not recommended for children). However, at the same time, Macca shows that he has been here, there and everywhere in-between, and has gleaned the maturity to show for it through “Happy With You.”

Of course, in true McCartney spirit, the album rounds out with the six-minute protest epic, “Despite Repeated Warnings,” which may or may not be (but totally is) a nod to our current political situation.

For his 17th solo album, Macca has managed to keep things fresh, unexpected and genuinely fun. Check out the album right here and revisit recent post on “his upcoming U.S. tour dates here .
