The Beatles’ “All You Need Is Love” to Be Adapted into Children’s Book

Many parents indoctrinate their kiddos into the world of classic rock through the early albums of the Beatles, one harmless two-minute pop song at a time. But for those who can’t stomach another round of “Love Me Do,” “Can’t Buy Me Love” or—God help you—”It Won’t Be Long” but aren’t quite ready to throw their rugrat into the psychedelic clutches of the Blue Meanies via Yellow Submarine just yet, fear not! Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing has announced a new series of children’s books based on the music of the Fab Four.

The first book in the series is an illustrated take on “All You Need Is Love,” with an as-yet-untitled follow-up due after. All You Need Is Love will be illustrated by Marc Rosenthal.

Rosenthal provided the artwork for comedian Michael Ian Black’s 2016 picture book A Child’s First Book of Trump, which included helpful tips to identifying the wild Trump in the election season, like: “The beasty is called an American Trump / Its skin is bright orange, its figure is plump / Its fur so complex you might get enveloped / Its hands though are, sadly, underdeveloped.”

All You Need Is Love isn’t the first children’s book modeled off Beatles’ music. In 2014, Ringo Starr penned a picture book titled after his Abbey Road song “Octopus’s Garden.”

The new series hits shelves in January, but for all you grownups, a graphic novel of Yellow Submarine will be released on Aug. 28.
